Ross Township is pleased to announce that it is now a member of the Nixle Community Messaging Service. The Nixle Community Messaging Service will be used by all Ross Township departments to provide their residents with community news and information that is both timely and relevant. This service will help residents of the township stay informed of trusted, neighborhood-level public safety and community information. After signing up for this service, residents will receive up-to-date information affecting the community by e-mail, text message and web. They can choose the information they want, for the addresses they want, all delivered at no cost. They will receive no outside advertisements and no spam mail. The Township intends to provide information relating to police and fire alerts, road closures, severe weather related alerts, community events and more.
To become a part of the Nixle Community Messaging Service, all a resident needs to do is to get onto their computer and follow these quick steps.
- Go to www.nixle.com
- Click on “Start Receiving Alerts Today!”
- Create an account by choosing a User Name and a Password
- Enter an e-mail address and a cell phone number where they would like to receive messages.
- Enter their address (or nearby intersection)
- Click “Sign Me Up”
