Deputy Jeff Rodgers has recently been assigned to provide exclusive law enforcement protection for our community. Deputy Rodgers is on duty in Moorefield Township forty hours per week; this is in addition to area coverage provided by the Clark County Sheriff’s Department twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. Deputy Rodgers has developed a strong relationship in the community and maintains a visible law enforcement presence in the Township. Contracting this exclusive law enforcement service from the Clark County Sheriff’s Department has had a major impact on the Moorefield Township budget. The cost to the general fund for salary, cruiser and other associated expenses is in excess of $80,000.00 annually. The Township also contracts an extra duty deputy to provide a limited amount of exclusive protection during selected weekends. |

Deputy Jeff Rodgers has served Clark County as a Deputy Sheriff since 1989. He was initially assigned exclusively to Moorefield Township as part of the Community Oriented Policing program. When federal funding for this position was discontinued, the Township assumed the financial responsibility in order to keep one full-time deputy in the Township. Deputy Rodgers was reassigned to the Sheriff’s Office for a few years and has recently returned to provide exclusive protection for our community. Deputy Rodgers has completed training courses related to police photography, crime scene investigation, drug interdiction and traffic investigation, in addition to numerous other training programs. He has also been honored as Officer of the Year by Clark County and has received numerous citations from various agencies. |
