Moorefield
Township Trustees are responsible for the care of two inactive cemeteries
located within the Township. Dear Cemetery is a family burial ground located
at the corner of County Line and River Roads. Burials at Dear Cemetery
ceased around the mid- 1900’s. Mumper Cemetery is situated on the
east side of Morris Road, south of Mumper Road and was once the site of
Moorefield Chapel. Graves located at Mumper Cemetery date from the early
1800’s to the early 1900’s. |

The
Township also operates and maintains Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 4287 Mechanicsburg
Road. Burials continue to take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery several
times each year. The Township Road department is responsible for maintenance
of all the Township cemeteries and for burials at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Rules of use for Moorefield Township Cemeteries: • No planting of flowers, shrubs or trees is allowed. • No glass containers are permitted. • Flowers or other remembrances placed on or near graves will be removed as deemed necessary. • Annual spring cleanup will begin no earlier than March 1st. • The cemetery closes at dark. |
