| Administration |
The
Township Board of Trustees is made up of three elected officials
that have a four-year term. They are responsible for day-to-day
decisions affecting the business of the township. They meet
on the third Monday of each month at the Township Hall in
Croton at 7:00 P.M. |

| Buildings |
The
Township has facilities at 2 North Main Street, 26 and 180
Smith Street in Croton. Two of the buildings are used to store
and repair equipment used by the township for road and cemetery
maintenance. The Hartford Volunteer Fire Department uses the
third. |

| Cemetery |
The
Township maintains three cemeteries, on Clover Valley, Roberts,
and Bennington Chapel Roads. The cemetery on Bennington Chapel
is active, with an additional 180 graves surveyed out in 2004.

| CodeRED Weather Warning System |
Hartford & Bennington Township, and Village of Hartford residents can sign up for CodeRED Weather Warning. The CodeRED Weather Warning will automatically call citizens when severe weather (tornado, flash flood, and severe thunderstorm) warnings are issued by the National Weather Service for your address. The CodeRED Weather Warning System calls only when warnings are issued and only if your address is in the path of the storm. This service is provided at no cost. |

| Equipment |
The
township has a tandem axle dump truck, a one-ton dump truck,
a road maintainer, a backhoe, a tar distributor truck, a roller,
and two lawnmowers. The two dump trucks and the maintainer
have snow plow attachments. |

| Fire / EMS |
The
township contracts with the Hartford Volunteer Fire Department,
Inc. to provide fire, rescue, and EMS service to residents.
The department has two medic trucks, one pumper, two water
tenders, one air supply truck, and a grass fire four wheel
drive truck. Thirty-five volunteers staff the department,
alerted by pagers sent by the 911 Center in Newark. If you

| Personnel |
The
township employs one full time and three part time workers.

| |
| Roads |
The
township maintains 55 lane miles of roads. Twelve miles are
paved with the balance gravel. The township is currently installing
tile and forming ditches along road right of ways to allow
well drained roadbeds. |

| Waste Disposal |
Beginning on Tuesday, April 6th, 2010 trash pickup in the township and the village will be handled by Big O Refuse. More information about the contract can be downloaded here.

| Zoning |
The
Zoning Inspector is responsible for enforcing zoning regulations
and issuing new building permits. The township realizes that
zoning is an important part of protecting property values.
Two committees made of community citizens are the Board of
Zoning Appeals and the Zoning Board. They advise the Trustees
on zoning issues. Another committee formed this year concerns
the Hartford Township Comprehensive
Land Use Report. It will develop a plan for future land
use in the township. |

meetings are open to the public. Copies of the minutes and
financial informational is available upon request to the Fiscal
Officer. The recent survey conducted with the Licking County
Planning Commission is also available. Contact any Trustee
