The Ohio Township Association in cooperation with the Center for Public Management at Miami University publishes a series of Township Sourcebooks intended to aid in township governance and management.

Each manual provides an informational resource for elected township officials about the functions and duties of their position. An introduction to townships, the election of township officials, their term of office and compensation, and how township meetings are conducted are included in both manuals.

Township Trustee Sourcebook
The Trustee Sourcebook examines those responsibilities particular to the office, including: streets and highways, building and structures, general welfare and public utilities, land, township revenues and expenditures, and planning and development. The Trustee Manual has been updated for 2006.
Township Fiscal Officer Sourcebook                             
The focus of the Fiscal Officer Sourcebook echoes the Ohio Revised Code. The ‘fiscal officer’ of the township is responsible for keeping accurate records of all accounts, transactions, and proceedings of the township. The budget responsibilities of fiscal officers are defined, and accounting procedures are introduced.  This sourcebook was also updated in 2006.
Township Personnel Management Sourcebook
The Personnel Management Sourcebook, originally published in 1996, was updated in 2003. It is designed to provide township officials with an overview of personnel management functions, issues, and recommended personnel policies and procedures.
