Local Government Management and Program Evaluation

Local government management and program evaluations have been provided to numerous communities, departments, and agencies.  Often such requests are in response to some sort of change - either a change in revenues, leadership, mandate, or environment.  Examples include strategic planning exercises, coordination of an executive search, charter reviews, job audits and distribution analysis, and forecasting of future financial demands and personnel needs.

Examples of Projects

Strategic Planning - several communities have asked professional staff to develop and facilitate planning sessions and retreats.  To learn more about the types of assistance available and for an example of projects, see the Center's page on goal-setting, team-building, and strategic planning.

Charter Review Commission - Center staff served as a support resource for the development of the first charter for the Village of Waynesville (Warren County), which was passed by the voters and became effective on July 1, 1994; in 2000, Center staff provided staff support to the first review of the charter.

Williamsburg (Clermont County) - assistance in conducting an executive search  for Village Administrator which included review of position description, management of recruitment process, and development of interview protocol.

Long-Range Planning and Financial Management - assistance was provided to two townships in Clermont County (Williamsburg Township and Monroe Township) regarding service delivery and staffing of their fire and emergency services departments.
