OTA Scholarship Program

The Ohio Township Association implemented a scholarship program in 2005.  The program was initially made possible by a donation from former board member Paul Smith and his wife Ethel.  The scholarships are continuously funded by donations from County Township Associations, personal donations and a percentage of OTA merchandise sold.

Originally, two scholarships in the amount of $1,500 each were awarded.  In 2009, the OTA began offering three scholarships: two Local Government Achievement and one Academic Achievement.  Scholarships are offered to high school seniors who are U.S. citizens residing in one of Ohio’s 1,308 townships.  The OTA works with an outside entity to ensure fairness in the selection process.  Please see below for past winners.

The 2012 scholarship application is now available. The deadline is Jan. 27, 2012.
