| 2012 Winter Conference Materials Available |
The OTA's 2012 Winter Conference will occur at the Columbus Convention Center Feb. 8-11 and the conference schedule is finalized. Pre-registration is closed. You must register on-site if wishing to attend the conference. Workshop titles can be viewed by clicking here. The OTA has received numerous questions regarding whether the township is permitted to pay for a newly elected fiscal officer to attend the annual conference. Click here for a letter from the Auditor's office stating they find it a reasonable expense. |

| Public Employers: State Mandated Annual Recordkeeping Due |
| BWC's Public Employment Risk Reduction Program (PERRP) reminds all Ohio public employers that the deadline to submit the Summary of Work Related Injuries and Illnesses (PERRP 300AP) is nearing. Public employers must complete and return this mandatory form to PERRP by Feb. 1, 2012. The form is available here. You have the option of completing it online or downloading a printable version. | OTA Offers Three $1,500 Scholarships in 2012 |
| As in previous years, the OTA is offering two Local Government Achievement and one Academic Achievement scholarship to high school seniors. They must reside in one of Ohio's 1,308 townships, be a U.S. resident, and plan to attend a two or four-year Ohio college or university in the fall of 2012. Click here for an application. | IRS Increases Standard Mileage Rate |
| From July 1 to Dec. 31, 2011, the standard mileage rate is 55.5 cents per mile for all business miles driven. The 4.5 cent increase reflects higher gasoline prices. |
| Retroreflectivity Guidelines |
| Ohio LTAP recently announced the publication of "Getting Started: Implementing a Traffic Sign Retroreflectivity Maintenance Program." This package is intended to assist Ohio agencies in their efforts to meet the national January 2012 compliance date for implementing a program that can regularly addresss the new sign retroreflectivity maintenance requirements.
